As
an advocator and practitioner of "Natural Rearing" I believe a
cat's health comes from first and foremost from the diet she is
fed. I believe to be truly healthy, a cat needs to be fed a
diet which is 100% raw and appropriate for her as a carnivore. More information on my Cat
Food Page.

Unnatural, Disease Will Keep Company With Those Subject
To It"

Secondly,
vaccinations are a deadly cocktail of diseases and noxious
chemical poisons which should never be injected into our
pet's little bodies. They should be avoided at all costs,
and owners are recommended to search out the knowledge of
side effects and life long health problems vaccines cause,
which is not publicised. Please visit my vaccination
page for more info.
Thirdly,
we need to stop dosing our pets with poisonous pesticides every
month in the name of protecting them from fleas and
worms. We need to step back and use our own sound
judgement against the advertising of toxic products. It is
so hard because we are constantly bombarded with adverts
extolling the virtues of various products, telling you...if you don't
use them you are being an irresponsible owner, and your pet
will die. Well, seriously, this is simply ludicrous!
Please realise this is advertising to sell a product and
that is simply all it is. Fleas and intestinal worms are
not normally harboured by a healthy, raw fed, non-vaccinated cat with a strong immune
system. Parasites prey on weak and immune compromised
individuals. Feed your pets correctly, keep them vaccine and drug free
and naturally healthy.
Below
is still under construction...sorry...
Determining
health: Coat texture on a Ragdoll should be soft and silky
to the touch, and is a good indicator of health. It should not
matt or require clipping, and only a light brushing when
moulting. Most of my cats never
get brushed and bathing is never done unless they are
going to a show. Their coats are often commented
upon, very clean and soft - reflecting internal health.
If
you have a Bi-colour cat with a pink nose leather - you
are lucky because you
have an excellent constant indicator of your cat's general
health. The nose leather should be a very deep dark pink,
not pale pink and certainly not white. Here are a couple
of photos of nose leathers showing excellent health:
